Syrup USDC
Overview
syrupUSDC is a token for a USDC lending pool run on the Maple protocol. The pool lends at fixed rates to crypto-native institutional borrowers who post liquid digital assets as overcollateral, and some capital also goes to futures basis trades and DeFi liquidity provision. Maple states that it is not a stablecoin and is not backed by USDC reserves.
Overcollateralized fixed-rate loans to crypto-native institutions (collateralized by liquid digital assets), plus basis-trading and DeFi liquidity strategies

Notes & material events
Maple-wide AUM was about USD 4.55bn on 2026-08-20 (Maple Memo). Maple smart contracts have been audited repeatedly (Trail of Bits, Spearbit, Three Sigma, 0xMacro, Sherlock, Dedaub, Sigma Prime; 2022-2026), and a multisig can pause the protocol in an emergency. History: in December 2022 Orthogonal Trading defaulted on about USD 36m across two Maple v1 pools (M11 Credit), after FTX. syrupUSDC was not affected because it launched in 2024.
